Water Diversion Canopy

In 2008 Sonoma Wine Company constructed a 24,000 sf canopy over the outside tank farm to provide stormwater catchment and diversion, insulation for the bank of wine tanks and an improved work environment for the cellar employees. We estimate capturing up to one million gallons of clean storm water annually for reintroduction to the local watershed via a federally protected salmon spawning stream and ground water infiltration. Additionally, this clean water is kept from our process wastewater pond allowing increased bottling production. The canopy has been engineered to accomodate a solar photovoltaic system.
